Step Teachers have been requested to source an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher to join an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ primary school within Hackney to teach a year 5 class. The role is a long term contract, commencing in January 2020, which could progress to permanent opportunity within the school for the successful candidate.

This role exclusively requires a Qualified Teacher with experience within KS2 classes who can demonstrate the following attributes;

  • Good classroom management and control, showing the potential for high-pupil engagement
  • Understand and utilise current theory and practice in relation to learning and development
  • Be excited about learning and really care about implementing an Outstanding learning provision for children and their families
  • Be a reflective practitioner with good communication skills, able to embrace change and take on-board advice

At the heart of the local community, this small school is known for its warm and inclusive approach where each child prospers. The school itself is up-to-date with specialist technology rarely seen in primary schools, which permits the children to explore and be creative with their learning. Every individual child is provided with an individualised learning plan, which provides the most effective opportunities to engage and develop at school and within the local community. The pupils are taught about their rights and responsibilities through activities that teach, teamwork and mindfulness. The schools' cohort of experienced and dedicated staff are all inspired and supported to continue with professional development. In turn this allows pupils to make the best possible progress and provides them with the skills required to become independent, reflective learners.

To be eligible to apply for this role through Step Teachers, you will first need to undergo our registration process, which includes; a face-to-face interview, full referencing, qualification checks and the obligatory safeguarding checks as step teachers are committed to the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
