Job description

We are looking for a passionate and skilled English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Enfield on a part-time basis (3 days per week), starting January 2026.

Pupils are eager to learn and have high aspirations for themselves. While the school is working to improve consistency in behaviour and teaching, staff are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment. Pupils value the curriculum and the opportunities it offers, especially in core subjects. Leaders are focused on raising standards and ensuring all pupils feel respected and included.

Duties as an English Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes progress and achievement

  • Assess, track, and report on student performance in line with school policies

  • Support students in developing key literacy and analytical skills

  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and curriculum consistency

Ideal English Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching English in secondary schools

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills as an English Teacher.

  • Commitment to providing high-quality education and supporting student success
