Step Teachers are working with a ‘Good’ secondary school in Newham who are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to teach in their autism provision unit. This is a full-time maternity cover position running until the end of this academic year.

Position: SEN Teacher - Autism Provision
Location: Newham
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working in SEN settings.
• Specialisation or experience in supporting students with autism.
• Strong understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
