Starting in November 2025 and continuing on an ongoing long-term temporary basis, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and parents to ensure the child can access learning and make excellent progress both academically and socially.

This is a warm, friendly, and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. Strong relationships between staff and pupils create a positive atmosphere, and behaviour is consistently excellent. The school offers a well-designed curriculum, tailored to mixed-age classes, with a strong focus on reading and language development. Staff are well supported by knowledgeable leaders and governors, making this a rewarding and welcoming place for any teacher to work.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support in class and during small-group or individual interventions.

  • Implement the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and follow strategies set out by the SENCo.

  • Assist with personal care or mobility needs if required.

  • Use positive behaviour strategies and create a nurturing learning environment.

  • Keep accurate records and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with a range of SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH) is desirable.

  • Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • A patient, flexible and compassionate approach as SEND Teaching Assistant.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
