Year 6 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting April 2026


This school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment where pupils benefit from strong routines, skilled teaching, and supportive relationships. Leaders work closely with staff to maintain high expectations, ensuring pupils feel safe, confident, and motivated in their learning. Pupils respond well to purposeful lessons that promote independence, resilience, and strong academic progress throughout the upper primary years.

Duties as Year 6 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and high‑quality Year 6 lessons
  • Prepare pupils for end‑of‑Key‑Stage expectations and assessments
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and core subject knowledge
  • Maintain positive behaviour routines and a well‑organised classroom
  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs
  • Assess and monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent practice across KS2
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal Year 6 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS2 teaching experience
  • Confident preparing pupils for Year 6 assessments
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate and support learners of differing abilities
  • Good organisational and communication abilities
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
