English Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a specialist school for students on the autism spectrum. Starting October 2025, you will teach English across key stages 3 and 4, adapting the curriculum to meet a wide range of learning needs and helping each learner achieve their full potential.
Duties as an English Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual abilities and EHCP targets.
Create a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment that encourages communication and independence.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.
Assess and report on progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.
Ideal English Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching English, ideally within SEN or autism-specific settings.
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting students with autism, including communication and sensory needs.
Patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills as English Teacher.
